Snow Disposal Permits

As of Jan. 2, 2024, The Tower Road snow disposal site is open (located near kilometer 4 on Tower Road). Snow disposal permits will be checked on-site.

Snow disposal permits are required for any company, contractor, subcontractor or trucks hauling snow. The permits apply within the boundaries of the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, including Highway 63.

Everyone with a snow disposal permit must agree to the following terms.

• Annual administration fee
• Monthly report on the number of loads (even if zero)
• Fees for each load
• Personal protective equipment for all vehicle operators and passengers
• No vehicle loaded beyond its legal limit
• We would like to remind all permit holders to make sure that they are following the Roads and Transportation bylaw 02/079, part 8 – Special Classes of Vehicles, section 8.14. No person shall engage a vehicle's engine retarder brakes within 2 kilometers of a residential property within the Municipality.
